i have a large picture which seems to be an original depicting Jesus.

Can anyone tell me about this picture and the artist please.

Yes, signature in bottom left.

I took the back off as there seemed to be sand or dust inside the frame and it transpires that the board in the back of it had woodworm so I cleaned it all and put it back in original frame

 

can you photo the siggy for a better look?

It's a religious picture. I think that makes it a hard sell. How many people want a picture of Jesus dominating their living room?

It's well enough painted.

I find his left hand odd - very pointy fingers - but it's the subject matter that will limit its appeal.

I think that the main appeal is that it's depicts Jesus Christ.

That's why I have it.

I am sure that some will like it and some won't.

It's one of the Sacred Heart images, Catholic and occasionally Lutheran. My guess would be that it's a print. It's one of those things you either really like or can't stand. I'm too much of a Baptist to hang it, but I do like it.

 

My lapsed catholic upbringing agrees with Ruth.

 

Look at this, Now i am not saying it is him, But the signature certainly looks the same to my eyes.
Bernal signed some of his paintings without the R also
