    That's my finding so far.......I'm always ready to be proven wrong......but..
    The wood handle & pommel......look strange to me..
    Nothing looks right..!

    The wood handle was common in late XIX, beginning XX century Italian sabers and swords, I think

    I respectfully disagree based on having seen many swords and working as a machinist. Think about the criminals who grind the serial numbers off firearms-if it couldn’t be done they wouldn’t bother.

    The sword is antique and original, again based on my experience as an antique arms dealer for many decades. I’ve already commented on value, it is old but age isn’t always translated into value.
