Antique Minton plate question.

    Hi all, This plate has the incised mark Minton and the date code symbol for 1879. My question is simple, Do these have pattern names or just numbers?
    This plate is 7 3/4" and in excellent condition.
    I tried for a half hour to get a pic of the marks, but just didn't happen.

    Generally the older patterns weren't given names.

    Are the red numbers on the back the pattern number?

    Yes, usually the numbers are the company's pattern and or dating numbers.

    So, google Minton date marks and you should be able to decipher what the symbols are.
