Described only as "totem pole carving" - seeking a few more specifics if it's from the British Columbia area. Carved wood standing 21 inches, no signature.

Style is somewhat BC-ish, colours are a bit "unusual" but forms do look like they are native.

s-l1600 (41).jpg The back. The grain seems like ceder - the brown stain/paint was applied, then the colored paint.

But that isn't how natives would do it in wood. That overall brown color is not a normal native technique; but is exactly the style for one company, as is the use of orange-red highlights. And the back confirms it.
I'm sorry, but in my opinion this is a cast product, most likely by the Authentic Alaska Craft Company.

Thanks, the applied brown paint threw me off. The Alaska Craft Co. makes sense. I had thought all such cast items were cast with brown composition material.

Kiana casts in a hard foam.....so all the outside has the look of the wood grain....
How many times I've told people that their pole is foam...not wood.....
    can't count that high !!!
