    Any idea of the origins and year of this cardboard like ad sign?

    It's a little early for the anti-smoking campaign. Happened a bit later in the 1960s.

    Any idea if the Center of Lung disease Produced this Ad?

    If it were printed by an official body, its name would most likely appear somewhere on the piece.

    Not seeing anything. Do you think this is an authentic piece from the 60s?
    Thanks so much for your input.

    Matt, would you be kind enough, next time you post an item of this type, to be sure your photograph includes the entire work including frame both front and back?

    As to this, is it printed or done by hand? Regardless, think it's period.

    The back of the original, because I took it out of the frame, is a white cardboard like material. It is printed in the front

    @Matt N - Welcome to the forum!! :happy::happy:

    You can get the piece out of the frame very easily by bending up those tiny tabs around the edges.

    Once out get yourself a magnifying glass & look at the design. If you see little dots then it is a print. You may also see something around the very edges to indicate where this piece came from & possibly the age.

    You know it has plenty of age from the cardboard back and looks totally Mad Men era to me.

    No doubt about what it is. Early 1960s anti-smoking poster. Likely produced at an ad agency or the in-house ad agency of some organization. May have been designed to be hung at doctors' offices. Important to note that it was in 1964 the Surgeon General issued his report to the American public about the dangers of smoking. (It wasn't until a few years before that the link was made between smoking and lung cancer.) Suspect the production of your poster followed.
