Vintage VacomReal Films Le Mans,Too Late,Melogy,Marco The Magnificent

Another great storage find.A set of four vintage movie films.I can't seem to find anything on these films by Vacom.I'm not an expert,I don't know what type of movie films,,16mm or what.Need some information please.

 

The label on reel 2 has 16mm & color checked off.

 

Right just saw that on one sorry,any information on the company or the films.I did find a few but I'm not sure it's the same film,for instance Le mans Steve McQueen not sure if this is the right film/movie

 

What an odd thing to find. Unfortunately, it appears you don't have complete films, only 1 of 3 reels of each.

Think wikipedia.org can give you what you need as to information. The VIACOM name didn't exist until 1970 so likely this 1971 Le Mans.

Somewhere in the huge conglomerate of companies that is affiliated with what is now CBSViacom, it's probable that there is still an original owner of these films. It is certain that somebody owns the rights to show the films, but there might even be somebody who could claim ownership to those specific prints. It's too much work to try to figure that out, but you should be aware of this.

For that reason, clearly state in any listing for sale that you do not own the copyrights nor the rights to show the films to any groups. I've often seen those sorts of disclaimers in online sales. Viacom (and it went through various names at different times) has forced people to take its copyrighted films off of YouTube, for example.

And you've probably noticed by now, the name of the company was Viacom, not Vacom.

Reading these articles and related ones has made me dizzy, but here is some information on the company! Corporate mergers and buyouts will do that.

Thanks so much for the information! right I did notice the name was spelled wrong,my mistake.I try to sell to collectors for their collections.But I will insert that info in my auction.

 

Do read the wikipedia.org entries for your films. Some have interesting information that might add value. For instance, the film Melody has an early soundtrack by the BeeGees.
