picked up this really cool stained glass panel at my antique shop today. It was marked originally 40.00 but half off booth so got it for 20.00. I saw its marked FMNH on the bottom. What does it stand for? Scene is like a underwater woman scene. I dont think it's old but just had a cool look.

It's a gift shop repro from the Field Museum of Natural History. I've owned two of them. I paid about $40 for the first one, which shattered into a million pieces one day with a wind storm. It was hard to find a replacement but I did not spend more than $100 on it.

I'm surprised they sell for that much being a reproduction

By the way, if anyone is interested, there will be a program on Tiffany and the Sea from a colleague at the Neustadt, you can purchase a $7 ticket for the recording.

    tiffany and the sea

You're "shore" to enjoy our next Tiffany Tête-à-Tête with Neustadt curators Lindsy Parrott and Morgan Pruden as they dive into a discussion of aquatic-inspired works by Louis C. Tiffany and his renowned Studios.

Tiffany's love of the sea endured throughout his life. As a young painter, he was drawn to the ever-changing interplay of color and light across the rippling surface of water, painting seascapes from the beaches of New England to the shores of Malta. Aquatic themes were also explored at the Tiffany Studios: ships, shells, stones, and sea life graced windows, lamps, mosaics, enamels, jewelry, and more. Tiffany's designers even incorporated treasures from the sea, including translucent beach stones and shimmering shells, into some of these creations. We hope to "sea" you there!
