Need help identifying a lamp

This lamp has apparently been in the family for some time, but has only recently been passed down to my parents. Admittedly, I think it's hideous but there must be an interesting story behind it. It's definitely unique looking.

I'd appreciate any information about it - approximate time period, manufacturer as well as whether it's worthwhile to get it appraised. Thanks!

Yours seems to be the same artist.

The price they have listed is unreasonably high.

You can check SOLDS on eBay for another.

 

The asking prices on ebay are insane ! You see lamps like these in the thrifts all day long for $5-10 . Thats crazy ! Is there something I dont know about vintage lamps ???

At least yours has its original shade. Agree re date. That burgundy color was a popular colorway in the immediate post-war years. As were Redouté-inspired florals.

origin is French Empire style with their "col de cygne" (swan neck) adornments on furniture and handles on porcelain vases.
