1920s(?) Vases

    The Wheeling decoration is more important than the glass maker in this case.

    How do you tell if it's black amethyst

    Black has to be a concentrated color of something, it could be ruby, amber blue, green or amethyst. For reason beyond logic Amethyst seems to have a caché to it.

    Hold it up to the sun, or very strong light and look through the black glass. If it is purple it is considered black amethyst glass.

    As Tom said there are other colors as well.

    Geeee, I didn't read all the postings. I'm several days late on Central to now seeing this is a resurrected thread.. My apologies, been a bit preoccupied the last week or so resulting in getting behind on the forums......

    I guess I'll be keeping them.
    I've of our glass enthusiasts picked it up and said, yall know this has been broken right?
    Sure enough, where the base meets the vase it's been re-glued
    You have to realllllly look to see it

    Oh well, they match my living room
