Can anyone place this really old Doulton

    Sadly broken but I love it. It doesn't look like Doulton Lambeth, Burslem, etc. The decoration has a sort of matt feel

    Is that a biscuit barrel? Sorry but it's kind of hard to tell in your photos.
    thepotteries.org lists your mark (but states that it is impressed) as c.1882+.

    Not Lambeth, with that clay, it'll be Burslem.

    Correct sir. Doulton Lambeth produced stoneware, not pottery. It's also possible that this is a modern repro as I have ever see this logo in all my years in English antiques and doesn't appear in the Doulton back stamp list. I may stand to be corrected.

    Lambeth produced pottery, I have rather a great deal of it. Mark is fine for Burslem. It's in Godden and I've seen it. Colour is pretty typical, too.
