Odd antique - anyone know the name for this fern?

It qualifies as at least vintage if not antique. Family history says this belonged to my great-grandmother. Mom says it did. Her cousin had it until recently, when said cousin died of old age. It's a fern, but I don't know the proper name. Great-grandma Mamie died at 90 in 1959, so it's at least that old.(LOL)

Looks like some type of arborvitae fern.

I found this - this is a Lace Fern - is it close?

In person, it looks like a really bad 'fro.(LOL) in green.

The candle holder is one of my photo props. Not worth a lot, but good for jewelry pictures.

From that first picture I thought "That's not a fern, it's moss!"

I'm viewing on my phone so the image isn't the best but it looks a bit like an asparagus fern.

Thanks for the refresher to my memory! I was thinking of the same "vision" but could not for the life of me remember the name!

I managed to kill an asparagus fern years ago after my many attempts to save it. I haven't tried again. I'm not sure that's what this one is though, it does look a bit like that fern moss or actually, seaweed.

I agree that it might not be an asparagus, but I wanted to look that type up in my books but didn't know what name to look for. Started with "ferns" in the index, but all the names are the Latin ones, which in this case was not particularly helpful.

We've decided it's Mamie, after its original owner. I think it's more Chia Head, but whatever.(LOL)

I think asparagus is probably close enough.
