I bought this small 6" pitcher from a thrift store yesterday.
After I got it home, I noticed a mysterious dark lump inside.
Upon closer inspection with a flashlight, it turns out to be a petrified mouse. Yikes!
He won't fit through the neck, so I can't get him out.

I found a small black widow living in a larger vase not long ago,
    from Goodwill.
Two years ago we got a moth infestation from a Navajo rug.
    No more rugs!!!
You never know what gross thing you might bring home.

Sell on eBay as 'haunted jug', possibly holding the remains of celebrity mouse 'Jerry', his apparition said to have been seen by some...

It is a nice pitcher, stracci.

If it is petrified mouse like this:

just tell it it is all right, you are a gentle person and it won't have to be scared anymore. Then try to coax it out with some cheese.

If it is more like the one below, sell it to a Museum of Antiquities.;)

I bought one of those huge 19th century sugar bowls in coin silver at an estate sale. Lid was stuck. When I got it home and managed to get the lid off I found it was filled with ashes. Took me a few minutes to realize it was being used as a cremation urn! I hoped it was for a pet, but was never sure that it wasn't for grandma. After driving around with it in my car for a while, I finally took it to a cemetery so I could scatter the ashes without feeling too guilty.

Before you donate this pitcher, can I ask whether there is any writing on the bottom and if so to take a pic of it? I have a similar pitcher that I've been hanging onto solely because there is writing on the bottom that I can't read. I can really only see that there are two words, and one of them starts or ends with an 'X'. Which leaves me clueless. I guess I'll start a new thread instead of cluttering up this one if I can get pics that show anything.

Oh, that is gross. Here's one for you. My Mom bought an adorable sugar bowl which she couldn't get the lid off. I took the sugar bowl and put it very warm soapy water. I saw the lid had come lose so I put my hands in the water to wash the bowl and came up with false teeth. Scared the heck out of me.

I vote for anything that doesn't include "hydrating" it back up! AGGGH! Grodie! I guess if it were me - I'd attempt to break it up into some big chunks and dump it out. THEN disinfect the pitcher!

    Hi,
When I was kid about 6 years old.I was digging in my gramps closet. There was a shopping bag hanging in the back, As I tried to move it it ripped a tear. Out fell over 30 dentures cascading down on top of my head. It seems that my gramp dug graves at a local church many years before.
When he found bodies that were not marked with a stone. he would gather up the bones and what ever was left and buried them at the edge of the grave yard. I never asked why he saved the teeth. I still get the chills once in a while when I relive that accident.
