It was given to me as Neolithic Chinese jade and the friend who gifted it is a collector of Asian antiques. I love it regardless of what it is and wear it a lot but was curious on everyone’s take and if it’s stupid to wear it as much as I do re: fragility.

    Gorgeous jade, reader.:hungry::happy:
    I am always scared of damaging stone bangles, but that is mostly because the furniture keeps running into me. If you have well-behaved furniture, by all means wear it. Wearing jewellery is the best way to enjoy it.:)
    It went out with a bang...:playful:

    TY Guys! I don’t want to break it but I figure there’s no point in having it if I don’t wear it and the last thing I need in this house is another “object”.

    Forgot to say, Chinese Neolithic jade bangles are mostly from the Liangzhu culture, late Neolithic.

    I wear it a lot! It definitely hadn’t nicked on me so I know it’s hard lol. I usually wear it with my PreColumbian Olmec necklaces.
    LOL and of course I immediately did. I see many were passed but I found one that I thought was very similar to mine that went for $275 in 2016. IMO that was a very nice present! TY for the info too!

    But, it is pretty interesting that something thousands of years old and made of a precious stone has so little value today.

    Perfect!
    Most I've seen went for more.:muted::bag:
    Strange, isn't it? That is usually the case with ancient items though.

    So true and that’s really the category that interests me the most-not necessarily ancient Asia but Ancient in general. The idea of who handled the object, what was bought with the coins, who walked on that fragment of floor, etc. fascinates me. I wouldn’t turn down major jewels LOL but that has never truly interested me. I can drool over JAR, Cartier etc. but if I’m going to dream I’d rather have a major piece of PreColumbian Peruvian gold (and I don’t really wear much gold-I prefer silver!)
