So I wasn't raised going to church so I am not sure if this mixed media is suppose to represent a particular Saint or Jesus? It could very well be Greek as the family it came from was from the Greek Isles. The figure is actually well done and apparently not finished (left side arm). Any thoughts?
    Thank you for looking! IMG_8582.jpg IMG_8583.jpg IMG_8584.jpg IMG_8585.jpg

    At a guess, St. Andrew.

That's a pretty grand frame. It looks as if it's meant to mimic or reproduce a stained glass panel. What are the mediums used? (Can't tell from your photographs.) Anything on back?

Agree re St. Andrew, by way. He is the patron saint of Patras, which provides a Greek connection.

I haven't taken it out of the frame but it is marker, watercolor and graphite on cut out artist board/cardboard which appears to be glued down on the mat.

If it's a study, it would be called a "mock up" for the stained glass window.
Like advertising, to show what it could look like when it's finished. I'm of the opinion that the arm is finished despite the white, because I think that 4-leaf clover pattern is part of the deal.

The 4-leaf clover pattern is a quatrefoil, a common design in Gothic churches.

I never thought of a study! How interesting! This family was very involved with the church so the possibility that it was a design for a window could be spot on. Thanks everyone. I think I will go ahead and take it out of the frame next week when I am back there and see if there are some notes on verso.

Yeas Debora, we saw that the other day on a necklace and I had to look it up. I wasn't sure this would still be called "quatrefoil" as it looks wayyy more "four-leafed-cloverish" as though that is a symbol (or logo?) for the church.

There are numerous variations to quatrefoils.

If it was a design for a window, and it was original, the person who created it was a very fine artist indeed as the composition as well as the execution is just stunning.
I think there is a good possibility that this may be a existing window somewhere that may have been copied to use as a model for a new piece.
