I’m a newbie! Hello everybody!

    Hi
    I’m Kristie and I live in Topeka Kansas. I moved here from Orange County in Southern California in order to spend as much time as possible with my folks (80 and 82) before it’s too late.

    I’ve been here almost 4 years now and I really do miss the beach life. Moving here gave me the opportunity to begin anew with my home decor and furniture, so I have taken advantage of it and found my passion for midcentury modern, turquoise, funky shapes, and all the atomic decor of that period.

    I’ve always enjoyed antiques, even when I was a little girl...not sure where the love came from but I’m a compassionate person who finds meaning in “things” and I respect that “old things” have been loved by so many, and I ended up just loving these “old things” too!

    My time is pretty limited as I work full time at the hospital, volunteer at the rescue mission weekly, and teach nursing at a local college here... but... I’m looking forward to exploring around the site and getting to know some of you...as well as your passions for richly-storied and historical items!!!

    Thanks to the moderators and administrators for getting this site up and for keeping it running!

    Welcome ! I take care of my mom as well,its a challenge but I wouldnt trade it for the world. :)
