Treating leather chairs

We have a chair and loveseat made of tooled leather over wood frame. They have images of Mayan figures on the leather. They've been stored in an attic for a couple of years and the leather needs to be treated. What should we use? I've asked around here but no one seems to know.

I don't have a photo right at the moment, but they are similar to this. The difference is ours is stretched over a wood frame kind of like a lawn chair

seemed very happy with treating some leather chairs with neatsfoot oil.......might ask him......

 

Neatsfoot oil seems to be the choice for the job. I am sure there are some other commercial products that would also do the job.

 

The local shoe repair guys used to recommend mink oil for waterproofing leather boots. It's also used on baseball gloves. i'm betting it would work on a leather chair too.

Yup, saddle soap every time, it's brilliant stuff.

 

I still have some Dubbin around here.....dad used to wax our leather ski boots with it........mink oil too !!

 

I've never heard of Dubbin wax. I know this is an old post, but thanks. We still have the set and have not done anything to it, yet.
