    Can anyone help with this signature please?

    it appears to be water damaged..

    My first thought on both the style and subject was 1930s - 40s WPA mural work.

    I stretched out only the first one a bit, the others are just inverted and color contrast : Looks simple, but it's sure NOT!!!

    Agreed with bakers, looks WPA-ish to me too, (or maybe Commie!) plus looks more like a wood engraving than a wood cut. I really like this and would buy it if I saw it, not caring who the artist is.

    The medium looks like linocut to me. GREAT picture, by the way, and by an accomplished artist!
