Can I fly with flatware in my carry on luggage?

Including dinner + butter knives — but not sharp...

Are we talking about things of value? Or just things?

Silver — flatware, candlesticks, a pitcher + bowl, some cups...

I can — I just hadn’t thought that it would be necessary...until I started putting things in my bag and realized — some are pointy! Some are heavy!

I have never mailed anything if value. I worry about it getting lost or stolen...

A few years back, I packed in my carry-on an old wooden jewelry box with stuff of Mom's that was becoming mine, mostly jewelry, but included a sterling youth size fork and knife set that belonged to my grandfather's sister as a child. The blade of the knife was not at all "pointy" but when my bag came out of the xray scanner, 2 TSA guys swooped it up for inspection. When they finally got to the offending piece, they realized their mistake, apologized, but then left the repacking to me.

I wouldn't recommend taking the knives in your carry on, pointy or not.

God help those TSA agents if they had tried to confiscate those pieces. ;):eek: :hilarious::hilarious::hilarious:

I could see @Bakersgma going all out ninja on them. ;) :jawdrop::jawdrop: :wideyed::wideyed::wideyed:
