Old brown leather satchel need more info

Hi,

Have this gorgeous brown leather messenger bag, but struggling to find more info/date.

Would anone have any suggestions pls?

 

What size is it?? Depending of that, looks like it could possibly be a Courier's Bag??? Someone sent to deliver important documents 'across town'?? That's MY best guess anyhoo!!

 

It appears to my eye to be a vintage 1970s shoulder bag designed in the courier/messenger bag or satchel style. Lots of unisex looks in the period. Could have been worn by either a man or a woman. Can't tell leather from photographs but lots of this type of thing were imported from India.

Agree but I’d push it possibly a little earlier 65-75. 70s are close enough and there’s no way to accurately date it but my first job in high school was in a leather shop and we made similar and that was mid 60s.

26 cm length
23 cm height
6 cm width

Not sure if its a couriers bag, it looks too nice

 

Yes! I thought it had that 70's vibe thought it could have been older. The leather has aged with time but its still smooth and stiff in texture. Thank you!
