    hello everyone!

So, I stumbled across a pair of nail clippers in a very odd way and I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on them, if they're actually old, or if i just happened to purchase somebody's swaparoo.

A little story on the topic: I was at target with my girlfriend, I went to grab some nail clippers, saw a Revlon package next to other nail clippers, purchased it, and went on my way. I get home and further inspect my purchase and the Revlon package had been resealed quite well and inside is where things got interesting. The nail clippers ended up being from the company Trim, but they look old, very very old. I could be wrong, but I'll let the pictures below speak for that. Inside of the clippers it says "Made In S.P.A" which after much research I can find no information on. The back has a matador fighting a bull, which clearly used to be painted, but has since faded with time.

If anyone has any further info or any expertise on the topic, I'd love to hear your opinion!

    Much love,

    Brent

Well, "very, very old" is subjective. I'd date them to the 1960s which was when mass tourism began. In Spanish, they're called cortauñas. Here's a another souvenir pair by TRIM, this time for the football club Barça.

Awesome! Thank you guys for your replies. I guess now it's just the mystery of how did they end up perfectly sealed in a Revlon package!

    Welcome!
    Ask Revlon tomorrow?
But now you can't prove it.

I sent them an email, but I doubt they will ever get back to me in regards to it. There's really no way to prove it now, I should've kept it in the packaging!

Very odd. REVLON should be interested. If package factory-sealed, something that happened on an assembly line somewhere. (Most likely a disgruntled employee.) The packaging will be coded with place and date information. Hope you included that information in your e-mail to company.

I spoke to a representative from Revlon today and she informed me that her and her manager will be passing it along to their higher ups because they also have no idea how it got in there. It's quite interesting none the less! I'm going to take the clippers into an antique shop this week and see if they can give me any more info on them!
