This is a very cute little turtle fetish that I am wondering what type of stone it was carved from. At first I thought it might be Picasso marble based on some of the other ones I saw but that different stone on the shell looks like it might be opal. This turtle is only 3/4" long. Thanks in advance!

For search purposes try boulder opal turtle fetish. Very nice. The tiny ones are really harder to do than bigger ones.

It's not boulder opal,it is opal in rhyolite matrix and most likely from Mexico.

There are the correct terms, & then there are the terms the average seller is more likely to use that help you find other similar items in an Internet search. I recommended search terms, not mineralogical ones.
