    Hi!

This is my first post here!

I found these two bottles at a flea market for around 4$ for both. I think it was a good find as I like glass bottles and such.

One of them is a bottle for alcohol and things like that and the other bottle can be used for multiple purposes.

Do you think the price was worth it?

    Welcome,
The bottle on the right is the type used for some of our maple syrup brands in the larger size, sold at the grocery store here in Canada. So recent. Value is up to you and how much you were willing to pay. :)

If you are collecting them just because you like them then what you spend is your decision but doesn't mean a bottle is worth what you pay.
If you want nicer ones with value you have quite a bit of 'learnin' to do but you'll get help here too. :)

Welcome, young collector! I wish there were more of you! If you search "leather wrapped flasks" on eBay you'll find more of these. They aren't particularly rare but neat to own. A tip: Take your cellphone with you when you shop. Discretely search when you see a piece you are interested in. It can tell you whether or not an item is overpriced and if there is a market for it. But if you're buying to keep it's hard to lose at $4. Good luck! We're here to help when you need us.

if the leather is in good condition.....there's some money there...but the flask is missing it's jigger.
the 2nd bottle is mass produced...and like TMTC says.....around here it's a maple syrup bottle..........

Hello and welcome to the board.

If you are interested in glass bottles, you need to know how to tell the difference between old and new.

This would be a good site to get you started.

Do you mean the metal part on the cork? If so, it's what's supporting the one to the right.

There are threads below the metal cap....they allow a small metal shot glass to screw on top. upload_2017-8-10_17-26-45.jpeg

    What's your point !
That's not in the pic of the two bottles and I can only comment on what I see....not what you're hiding....
