Need help identifying this jug

    I believe the pattern is a transfer that is then hand painted. There's a (mask) head below the spout, with "45" written on the base (pattern number ?).

    Any thoughts on the origin and date would be appreciated - thanks !

    My best bet is English Staffordshire c1850-75 It will be hard to pin down the maker.

    Is it translucent (China) or opaque (ironstone)?

    I don't have it with me at the moment, I would say it's more opaque than translucent.

    It says it's a jug. Obvs.

    Somewhere in the Midlands, sometime from about 1820 onwards to the middle. Shape number probably and piece workers mark.
