I found this pine dressing chest in a brick shed in a clearance today.
It was painted decades ago and then stripped about 40 years ago.

    7 drawers and a cupboard.
It was being used to store tools.

I thought the glass knobs were an addition but research on line shows they are original to the piece.

No full photo yet because it was dark by the time I got it out, its near enough 6 foot long and weighs a ton, I was on my own, so I got a bit of a sweat on.

Three similar chests for sale in the UK all with glass knobs.

Sweet! Those glass knobs alone are worth the price of admission.

What Sabre said. Not something I'd hide in a tool shed, although that may have kept it off the burn pile. I'd let it go to a crafter who'd put a paint finish on it similar to what it ought to have.

No paint, it will be lightly sanded down and waxed, preferably Briwax Antique Pine, not my job though.

Is it staying in the family then? Or do you have a person to do the waxing before offering it for sale? Sorry for being so nosey. It's a fantastic find. Wish it were mine.

The buyer a local antique dealer and French polisher will do the work before displaying it in his shop.
He's not seen it yet and does not know about it, but I'm confident he will be handing over lots of cash.
