This is my former wedding ring, it was purchased from Ostermans years ago. I understand they are no longer around.
How to I find information about this ring? I do remember it is a marquise cut. But I can't remember if it's .75 total carat weight or less. The inside says 14KP. Is that less valuable than 14k? After the 14KP, there is some sort of mark (hallmark?) and then an "L".
I want to find out more info so I can sell it, but anything on the net seems to be larger diamonds and it's like trying to wade through mud due to so many rings out there.
I included a couple pictures. I try very hard not not shake, but my neurological condition makes that almost impossible, so I apologize.
my ring top 2.jpg my ring maker mark 2.jpg I did have them put together way back when because the larger diamond fits inside the outside diamond and they kept separating and twirling on my finger and it drove me nuts. Does that affect value?

Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

My thoughts would be to take it to a couple of jewelry stores and ask them for a verbal appraisal....but ask if there's a charge first.....or call first.... often there is no charge! Looks like a pretty setting!!
BUT I can also tell you this:
"karat plumb:The term 14KP stands for "karat plumb" gold---meaning exactly 14K.... no more, no less. KP does NOT, I repeat does NOT mean plated. It is solid 14K gold. Karat weights are usually determined with a small, fractional variance allowed by law."

Thank you, I thought they always charged for any appraisal at jewelry stores. I will check that out. Glad it isn't gold plated! Whew!

    pretty ring....
most dealers are not looking for diamonds under one carat ...as they are very numerous and not always of the highest quality.....
so selling your ring as is.....is a better bet...

if the two rings are soldered together...that will lower the value...unless a good jeweler can separate them ...without harming either..
