thought this was quite nice that i found today

want a proper silver and turquoise one really

but bought this for wearing, as it looks quite cool on

not sure if its modern or vintage

think the stone is jasper ?

got it down to £10 which i thought was reasonable

    any thoughts appreciated

There's a specific name for that stone I can never remember. Someone will come up with it. Very nice.

Sort of thing you would have seen at crafts shows here in the US in the 1980s.

Looks like it could be a mixed up chrysocolla, does that little pocket have crystals in it?

Rainbow calsilica is man made from crushed limestone and plastic.

I'm tempted to call this one Monet jasper & leave it there. I like the way the stone works with the metals.

it doesnt look to have holly, nothing shiny

the picture makes it look more ceramic than anything, but its definetly a hard stone of some kind

That's very like one I posted a week or two back. Some of this mixed metal stuff came out of South Africa.

I think it could be Jasper too, although am not familiar with the Monet designation.

I thought I was making it up because that's how jaspers, which are any opaque chalcedony, get named, by their resemblance to something, & I thought this resembled the work of Monet. I didn't know it was already in use either.

I can't remember the makers, but there was something of a thing for South African crafts people making these. The copper was inexpensive and easily got and the other metals often scrap. I saw them at gift fairs and so on.
