Featured lil pinkie cameo ring help

hi everyone

can anyone tell what this little pinkie ring i found today might be

pretty sure is silver (though unmarked)

but unsure if its carved or not, and if so what from, doesnt feel plasticy

only a wee little thing 5/8 of an inch

any thoughts appreciated

 

It's carved in conch shell. Cameo is better than the ring it is set in. Quite pretty. She needs a bath. Dish soap, water & a soft toothbrush should do the trick.

Nice find & out of the ordinary to see a conch shell cameo used this way instead of some hack helmet shell job.

 

Thats really quite lovely in its simplicity .

was an antique market not charity shop fig, paid £8 down from £12 so not too bad

 

bronwens right though, looking at others, the carving on this is nicer than some of the ones im seeing set in gold

this ones set in 15k gold, and priced over £1000, but dont think the carving is as nice

That was a very good deal. Shows how most people value cameos by the worth of the setting & not the quality of the workmanship of the cameo itself.

 

A bargain, and who cares about the setting. To me the simple setting emphasizes the beautiful carving of the cameo.

Nowhere near the quality of yours.
