This has puzzled me for years and I would like to know a little more about it if possible. I found it when clearing my Grandparents' house a couple of years ago and stylistically it struck me as Anglo-Indian (as was a lot of their things owing to my family working in Nagpur as mining engineers).

I now use this as a pen pot, but my interest in it was again raised when I discovered that my Grandfather's cousin has a nearly identical one in her study which she also uses as a pen pot!

Like my Grandfather, she was also born in India and I wondered whether these could have been some sort of Indian christening cup? She is now 95 and doesn't remember not having this cup and agreed that it could well have been from India.

I put the two side by side and noticed that hers was slightly bigger and the pattern slightly different, but otherwise very similar.

Can anyone offer any thoughts on this at all? 20200919_172309.jpg
