    Aloha everyone,

I am wondering about any info on a dry liquor bar acquired from my grandparents. Its a beautiful piece and am really interested in knowing about it. For example, what type of wood (if you can tell by a pic), what the age of the piece is?

My grandfather was in the military and was stationed in the Philippines, my grandmother won these piece in a bowling tournament. The tag on the back reads Hoover Co. 44BF3256-FE7A-451E-A4F9-AD378B25D743.jpeg

    thank you for any info.

You need to resize your pictures to 1mb or smaller.

    Are you in the US?
A lot of our Hong Kong imports were from the 1960s/70s. Would your grandparents have been active at that time?

Yes, my grandfather was. I was told it was either 1958 or 1959 when my grandparents acquired this piece.

Be sure to check back. People come and go at all hours here.
Hopefully once this is moved to furniture, someone will be able to help more.
(Don't start a new thread over there, a mod will move it for you.)

Pics are not really sufficient to tell wood. Looks like it could be mahogany but, being from HK, it could be something I wouldn't necessarily know about. I think this was new when your grandparents got it.

I tried looking up the company, but had no luck.
As Brad said, I imagine it was new when your grandmother won it.

Asian antiques are doing well right now. So would think that this has a decent value, but I wouldn't even have a guess at where the price would be.
