Finally getting around to sorting thru the stuff we got months ago at the used machine tool shop liquidation. We do one pallet at a time and sort things into categories in very strong industrial containers. The thick blue plastic boxes are about 14x21x10 and are maybe 3/16" thick, and have special covers that mate the boxes for stacking. The rolling steel tables weigh 350 lbs. empty. This table is where the "common tools" have been going; on top left, wrenches. Middle-Allen wrenches. Right-squeeze/scissor type tools. The boxes of wrenches must weigh 100 lbs or more each and you could make up dozens of "complete" sets of wrenches from each box. We have uses for some duplicate wrenches but I'm sure we'll wind up with many to donate to schools or use for artwork. The vast majority of stuff, going on other tables for now, is specialized machine tooling, unknown machine parts, hardware of all kinds, etc.

Here's a veritable arsenal of WmD* that came mixed in with the other stuff. How many different devices can you name?

Air driven: right angle ratchet, lots of drills, grinder, 'needle gun', chisel, impact 'wrench', air 'chuck' (or blaster people call them different things), high speed grinder.
I'm not sure of the one upper right of the yellow air chuck.

Here's my 'Crestoloy' 10" Crescent wrench. I LOVE the arrow for the direction of use.
    Never saw that before.
    Made in 1930 only.
    $1. :)

    Ha!!!!
Only one year could be hard to find. I immediately knew it was special before I picked it up!

There were lots of makers of this type of wrench clear back to 1894 I believe.
    Crescent is NOT the first.
I like the double ended one too! :)

The collection has me looking around for a streamliner riveted space ship flying by on a wire, chased by Ming the Merciless.

What I liked best about the Flash Gordon serials were the sound effects. When I was young, the clay people scared me a lot more than Ming.

I had forgotten the clay people! Good grief, yes.
Too bad you can't get these old serials on TV nowadays. I think the corny special effects would be very popular.

I think Fox is about to launch a new Scifi series that may well live up/down to the classic cheesy SF from the 30s and 60s.
