    Hi guys

I've posted this one before, but went by a bit too quickly for resolution

It's a difficult one to work out, so that may have been the case also

    Measures 7 inches

Rd hand written but upside down

    Any thoughts appreciated

That's a hard one. Google translate seems to think "caer bar" is Spanish for "drop bar" and a South Wales history thing I found says this...

    Cited from https://archive.org/stream/southwaleshistor00londuoft/southwaleshistor00londuoft_djvu.txt

The town of Cardiff, in which the Marquis of Bute is the
greatest landed proprietor, derives its name from " Caer Bar," the
fortress on the Taff, but little is known of its history from the
departure of the Romans till the conquest of Glamorgan.

Thanks buddy, it's a very tricky one indeed

Thought it was a home decor thing at first, but the base seems to suggest otherwise

I thought Welsh myself because of the caer, but can't find a pottery company with that connection

    Tricky tricky :)

I think that may be a potter's mark, rather than an RD?

Well I think it's what makes this place good and often leads to identifications. People see and think of different things:)

Haven't got a Facebook, but might start an account, as it sounds a good avenue for future endeavours

Tried it on the 20th century forum now as well, as Naomi has been helpful in the past

I have looked and looked and given up. The Rd could just as easily be 121 with a stray squiggle.

Well I appreciate the effort jpj, thanks

It's hard enough to estimate an age as well, let alone that blasted stamp:)

It's an area in France which was a big centre for pottery. Not my area of expertise but it seemed worth sharing.
