Can anyone identify the pattern or manufacturer of this saucer/bowl?

I'm hoping that someone can help me identify this saucer/flat bowl that I picked up at a flea market a few weeks ago.

I initially thought it was a Bow porcelain saucer - and it is, I think, similar in style to the Bow mustard pot (Final photograph below). It could be Chinese export, but I know relatively little about that area.

Gut feel is Chinese export.

 

My feeling is English transfer printed hand coloured ironstone? Has it any translucency?

i agree with John. first one looks 19th century English transfer printed partly handpainted chinoiserie saucer; maybe newhall, spode ?
the second looks like 20th century chinese porcelain, but we need a photo of the bottom to be sure

 

I agree with @Ownedbybear, looks Chinese to me though I'll always defer to the clever potties on this site. Footrim is quite deep, too.

Yes, it is translucent.

 

My apologies: that's the eighteenth-century Bow mustard dish.

 

I think so too now, mainly because of the kiln grit and orange peel pittings on its foot.

I've ordered some books on Bow porcelain and will post an update if my initial gut feeling was correct.

 

That mustard pot isn't Bow, it's Chinese, and relatively recent. There's lies, damn lies and 1stdibs lunacy.

Your plate is nicer, too. I'm really not seeing transfer print ironstone, though.

 

Totally agree with OBB, that's why I said "attribution" on the link to 1st Dibs.

 

I'm pretty sure it's English; the painting style, the color combination the green pigment does not suit chinese porcelain. it could be a blank Chinese dish painted in England or a dish made in England. and the deep footrim..The spode, newhall, ridgway, lowesoft also had a deep foot rim.

and I don't see any oven grit.
what about the jar with lid ... I don't believe it dates from 1753 ... 18th century Chinese porcelain was of very high quality and very neatly made. So I agree to disagree

 

could you post a new pic of the bottom? not from top but from front. please keep your camera 45 degrees so we can see the foot rim clearly..

Did Hilditch do any flowers/baskets like that?

 

I didn't mention hilditch because I myself had 2 hilditch saucers and they had a different footrim.

but that of course does not mean that these are not hilditch. mine were from 1820

 

I thought of Hilditch because I have a plate that reminded me of this. I can't get to it to look at the moment though (in the middle of a kitchen remodel and nothing is where it belongs).
