Unfamiliar Artist

    I’m wondering if anyone is familiar with this painting and or artist.My grandfather brought it back from overseas after WW1. It is in it’s original frame as far as I know. The signature is CH.     Don't think it's CH Slade. (CH would stand for Charles.) Think it's C.H. Slade. Bridge of Sighs, Venice. A very popular subject. Anything on the back?

    Personally I would not pay for one of those services, everything you need to know is out there for free.
    Signing up @ liveauctioneers.com is free and very helpful in finding past sale records.
    And Debora's link gives a very informative biography on Slade for free.

    I don't use those services either. The danger is one forgets to cancel and membership goes on and on and on. In fact, that's what they're counting on.
