Welcome to my world where I hide things so well that sometimes it takes years to find them!

I do like highly shined silver on pieces that relate to mod, modernist, chrome age, etc. If a piece that I could picture with let’s say, vintage Cardin or Gernreich then yes, I think it should be blindingly shined but if anyone put chemicals on my conchas I’d kill ‘em.

That has nothing to do with vintage traditional concha belts. No legit dealer polishes old traditional conchas or squashes.

You’re absolutely breaking my heart komokwa. If there is any possibility of changing your mind about polishing traditional vintage belts and squash blossoms I’ll continue trying but I will revise my statement to: No Western US dealer of TRADITIONAL vintage Navajo squashes and conchas that i have ever encountered in 50 years of collecting would ever polish them to high shine.

I’m only addressing traditional work of age. The thought of a polished Fred Harvey thunderbird squash is killing me lol. Polish away on newer work.

I generally leave things be, on the general principle that things I don't mess WITH I cannot mess UP.

Been there, done that early and often.
