Got another great one for you ladies and gents. Picked up this beautiful oil painting on eBay for $100, I love it and I'm quite sure it is an antique. It looks to me I have heard that artists used to use pieces of old doors to paint on, hence the bevelled edges, but I'm unsure. I'm pretty sure the frame isn't original to the painting as you can see from the back with the wooden packers. The frame is 30.4cm long by 26.5cm wide and the painting is 14cm long by 10.8cm wide. It could be c1800's or even as early as c1700's but I'm thinking more along the lines of c1900's. What you think can you help me out, ladies and gents?
I also have another similar one which I'll post next time.
    Thanks for your time everyone.

It is a copy of 'La Bouquetière', the flower seller, by M. Delort. D'apres M. Delort means after M. Delort.
The original was probably painted mid 19th century, when there was a fashion in France for painting different professions.
Her skirt is tied in a bunch at the back to keep it clean, something I haven't seen before.

Great thanks for the info Any Jewelry. I'll see if I can find a picture of the original or maybe this one is a remake (another artist interpretation of the original) anyway I'll see what I can find.
Thanks again Any Jewelry, much appreciate it.

If you look under Charles Éduard Delort you will find works by the artist.

Yes, it could be Charles Édouard Delort. In that case M. could stand for Monsieur.
It would still be worth looking for an M. Delort as well, possibly related to Charles Édouard.
