    I have had this, what I believe to be a bayonet, for a year or so, but I don't know what gun it was used for, or if it's even a bayonet. it's not in great condition at the butt end of the handle, and it once had a metal D-ring on the back in that hole, but it fell of a while ago. The bill is there for length, I could not find a ruler. 20170921_205228A.jpg 20170921_205316A.jpg

    Seems short for a bayonet and I see no way to mount it.
    Maybe it's been sharpened a great deal?

    Thank you for the input, I don't think it's been sharpened very much, as it fits the sheath nearly perfectly, I also think there was a loop or tab on the shorter side as it is slanted slightly as if it was cut. as for the mounting point, i'm not sure.

    Looks like a bayonet point.....likely any one of a number of WW2 mfg's,
    but I can't see it clearly...

    Looks like a well worn hunting knife made in the Randall style.

    Does it have any markings? :)

    Hunting knives usually have clip points.....this one's a stabber......

    [IMG] This knife has an extremely similar blade, and the shape of the handle bottom is very similar as well, even at the top of the handle is a flat part that gradually gets bigger the closer you get to the handle, much like mine. i haven't checked if the, what i assume to be leather strap, handle is original or not, but this knife is the closest thing i can find to mine on line, is it possible that mine is this and has just had some work done on it?

    Hi! Welcome!

    ~

    Here's a bit of help for posting photos>

    ~

    First off...I and many others, do not bother with the gallery. We like photos sharp, clear and at the full image option in any forum post. We will not usually look at links. Too dangerous.

    ~
    Sometimes you can drag and drop photos though I've found I can't always.
    ~

    This is my standard help document>

    (And you can go back to EDIT to implement it if you wish)

    ~

    I’ve found that this works best for me by computer though by phone is, or may be, a bit different.

    Photos always load quickly and so I wrote this up to help all and all of you are welcome to copy and share when necessary. :) >>>

    ~~~
    After your comments are complete drop down a line.
    ~
    Put a squiggle > ~ or a dash - or something as a spacer from the words to the photos. I think this makes it easier to read your comments and questions.
    ~
    Drop down a line.
    ~
    Make your photos 480x whatever # appears.
    ~
    Load all your photos, 10 max.
    ~
    At the top of your photo pile there's an option to enlarge them all. (Full Image)
    ~
    Enlarge them always please.
    ~
    Thank you!
    Note> If you go back and edit you must always click your cursor under the last squiggle or your comments will be split up by the photos.
    Also, many of us will not open links so it's best to put photos directly in your post.
