100_7956 (1024x578).jpg Auction find. These measure about 3 1/2 by 3 3/4 inches. Are they Meissen? Any ideas on age? Do these have a purpose, other than to hold trinkets or jewelry? Why is one sharp and dark in its design while the other is blurry and light? (I don't buy much glassware.) :D These also have impressed numbers near the marks.

Not a glass expert, but even standing on the side lines, one hears frequent discussions about faked Meissen marks, so tread carefully.

Have to say the fact that one is sort of "blurry" as you said, might be a bit of a red flag. Meissen was a pretty high end company and not sure that would have passed inspection.

But wait for others to respond. I'm not an expert in Meissen.

I'm no expert, but I'd say not. They don't look neat or clean enough for Meissen.

There are quite a few Meissen onion shell dishes around, to compare. You know Meissen is still in business?

I found some that are very similar but not identical. I did think that Meissen is still in business.
