I found a set of Pearls and researched them. It looks like an exact bracelet I found online that are Mikimoto pearls.. I've been going through all this stuff for weeks and just found this forum yesterday. Someone please tell me to stop if I'm posting too much. 529C1913-6B80-4F80-A78E-637E26DE5FDE.jpeg 01E84A44-F76F-4894-9F20-6188FF0C2176.jpeg

It certainly wants to be a Miki mark, from what I can see, but I'm no pearl expert. If the pearls are individually knotted I'd say the odds go up. It doesn't look like a repair/restring job, but pearls set on 14k gold ought to be hand-knotted. If not, this is a serious puzzlement.

Thanks. I didn't know about the hand knotting. I need to take so many things to an appraiser but need to research them.

@Laura1969 , is there a knot tied in the string between each pearl?

The problem with taking it to an appraiser, my jeweler charged me 60$ a piece to write an appraisal on a piece that didn't come from his store, and that was many years ago.

    Gosh that's expensive. I don't see a knot. I just see string. 2020-10-15-16-55-05-287.jpg 2020-10-15-16-55-05-287.jpg

No, these are not knotted between each pearl. I don't think these are natural pearls. These look like costume pearls to me.

I read about Mikimoto, they no longer farm their own pearls.

Oh they aren't new. They came from my grandmother who died at the age of 92 about 10 years ago. The only thing that makes me curious about them is that they are in 14k.

The "M" in an oyster shell is the Mikimoto mark.
But I honestly can't understand why the pearls are not knotted in between. Fine pearl jewelry is always knotted.

Oh I know you are right.. however you have to understand that she owned an antique store for many many years and when she retired she lived in a small condo in the Beach in Clearwater, it is very likely she only kept things from the store that were valuable from what I am learning due to the size of her place.. I'm not saying they are Miko, just saying it's worth getting them appraised. I don't want my grandchildren to discount them when I die and give them to Goodwill

Handsome bracelet & looks solidly made, but the absence of knots is a red flag. Have you done the most basic thing & rubbed the pearls against your teeth to see if they have the grainy feel of real pearls?

They don't look costume! Good quality cultured pearls to my:cyclops::)
Maybe they were restrung at some time... I encountered several times nice pearls bracelets without knots between the pearls, look is much nice than if pearls are spaced;)
They seem to have French bullion wire at the junction of the strand with the clasp? Quality is here:)

The mark is a Mikimoto mark. I wonder if the pearls have been restrung?

The beads are so close together. Is it possible, they were damaged at one point and restrung??

Maybe, right now they are all giving me the most comfort. I never thought I would have this much fun finding out about these things. Possibly it would bring my kids the same joy!! I'll just make sure they know about the possible values and not hide it under a cabinet with Christmas paper. LOL. However, With that said, I have found creepy straddfordshire cat that matched the dogs I found. Same scary eyebrows. I might sell that..LOL. THANK YOU for the good advice
