Hi all! I have a Richard Ginori plate in the pattern Italian Fruit. I question the authenticity because although the designs appear hand painted, I can make out a faint border around each fruit and flower as if they were stickers applied to the plate. Perhaps the designs were painted on a clear film first then applied to the plate? Also, I know they have used many marks during the years, but perhaps someone here knows what year this particular dish was made? Any help will be much appreciated! Thanks!

Dahlia, would you be kind to repost your photographs as Full Image so everyone can easily see them? I've done the first.

I see no reason to believe it's not authentic considering it's pretty new.

A beloved member of the board who passed away, Walter Del Pellegrino, was an authority on Italian pottery. I jotted down a note in the back of one of my books where he mentioned that Ginori had over 200 trademarks that they used, but if the 1735 date was used in the mark the piece was likely produced after 1995.

Thank you very much for your reply. I am sorry to hear Walter Del Pellegrino has passed. During my search for more information, I did come across a few things he had written online. He seemed so very helpful and extremely knowledgeable. I am sure he will be missed for a very long time.

Thank you very much for your reply.
Any idea why there would be a faint border around the flowers and fruit?
