A slightly eclectic group of cheap and cheerful bits. I just pick up anything that interests me. As always I love to hear your thoughts even if it’s ‘why did she buy that?!’

I really like this- unusual art glass pendant. Not new but not old either!

    You MONSTER!

That pale blue is Neiger. Bloody hell, how did you do that. Me, jealous, MUCH?

Why did she buy that? Because I didn't get to it first! The animal eyes I probably would have lived without, but would have snaffled most of the rest without a second thought. We Americans love Coronation coaches, probably because we don't have royalty of our own. That enamel costume piece would be in my personal hoard so fast....

Lol!. I wasn’t sure if they were Neiger but I had an inkling they could be. They were at a weekly antiques fair in the £10 tray which as you know is about 10x as much as I usually like to spend:hilarious:.
Seller was some pompous woman who acted like I’d asked to inspect her knicker drawer when I wanted to look in her glass case.
It’s part of a manicure set I think for cleaning under your nails. It’s a bit sharp though so could end up with no fingers. It was completely black when I picked it up for 25p:shame:.
I pick them up when I see them as they sell quite well to restorers of teddy bears etc.
Ive got quite a collection of mainly British lead toys but they have got harder to find and much more expensive so I don’t pick them up very often now.
I’m very taken with that necklace too. Only £1 so back in my comfort zone! Shame it’s not signed. Clasp is a spring ring not a lobster clasp so maybe a few years old.

Oh ok, I can't quite see the tip end! It looks NOTHING like a nail tool I've ever used! LOL! Oh, the LUXURY! ;)

HOW large is your stone bowl? Very handsome piece.

Many years ago, I bought some beads, gave them to a friend to repurpose. At that time, I did NOT realise the damn things were Neiger. Arg.

That enamel is 1970s. I think your "manicure" item came from a sewing set. It's for making or marking holes.

    HAH! ;)

OK, now I've seen that properly, yes it's a cuticle pusher.

I like the pusher, but think it may be kind of heavy if it's sterling? ;)
The stone bowl is beautiful. I'd put it in the hallway for keys! ;)

Why on earth did she buy that Neiger necklace or that stunning carnelian pendant?! (shakes head ) :hilarious::hilarious::hilarious:

K, did your private little marks locator (aka daughter) find any marks on the bail of the carnelian pendant? I know Germans made similar pendants during the Art Deco period.

It’s hallmarked with the lion and anchor and the X for 1897 so I don’t doubt the handle is sterling. Not sure the blade piece is but I’ll test it.
I liked the bowl too. When I picked it up I noticed it was ‘stone’ cold and heavy. I like fossils!.

I have to admit I haven’t looked closely and daughter is off doing ballet. I will look now :pompous:

Ive been over it very carefully but can’t see anything although there are a few ghosts that could be rubbed marks.
Can you see anything from the bail to know if it’s German/Deco or not possible to tell?
I’ve just given it a bath and it’s a stunning little piece of stone.
