Sorry for the bad photo, but I snapped this with my phone in a hurry, and the piece is still in another state with mother-in-law, so can't take another right now. Among family things was some glass, possibly cut, possibly molded, that I had pretty much dismissed all the glass things as not valuable (erroneously, maybe). It's probably from the 1920's & 30's. Does anyone recognize anything about this from this photo alone? In general, does cut glass have value, and if some does, what are the characteristics of those that do?

It seems that collectors are more interested in what company did the cutting than what design it is. They want a signature on the piece. I'm a collector (not of cut glass) but recognize the wants of buyers. a piece may be 'rare' in that only a few were made, but without 'who dun it" it may not have 'value.'

It appears to be American Brilliant...and not a very uncommon pattern. You did not give size..if around 6" ...a nappy. There could be a siggie ..so when you have it in hand..do check.

Usually inside center of dish . could be off center ...you must hold dish up in sunlight and keep tilting to see if light hits on it if it is there.

Marks can be lightly etched and small... very difficult to see:
