I found this forum when looking up information on some furniture I was refinishing. I realized how much I enjoy looking at stuff others post so I thought I would post some of the items I have enjoyed restoring and some of the more interesting things I have found.

I found this piece at a garage sale. It it from a Rochester company that existed in the early 1900's. I absolutely loved the wood grain on it. It is extremely well made . Resized_20190505_132302.jpeg Resized_20190727_132256.jpeg Resized_20190727_132323.jpeg Resized_20200831_151503.jpeg

I got this piece for $5 at a garage sale. I am still learning so I just try to find projects. Once I had cleaned it up, I ended up loving it and I replaced a mass production piece in my spare bedroom with this one Resized_20190505_132002.jpeg Resized_20191231_142920.jpeg

I wanted a nice storage chest and found this one at an estate sale. It was an early straightforward project for me Resized_20190330_114018.jpeg 20190501_180203.jpg

And last - this is not furntiture but I found this Joseph Bohman mandolin at an estate sale. My nephew is a musician/song writer and I try to give him some type of intrument each year for Christmas. He is mainly a guitar player so I think he will love this. Bohman put his picture inside the instruments he made. I think this was made in the 1890s. I did not refinish it as I think he will like the aged look. Very nice. I just finished some light refinishing of a few pieces of furniture that I have put up for sale on a local Facebook marketplace. It makes me appreciate all the hard work you have done.

Why thank you. It means a lot coming from you. I used to do refinishing when I was poor and couldn’t afford anything but thrift store items. When I decided to sell these I knew the work.
