gidday all just after some thoughts on this dinner plate i have to me it looks like a studio piece only because there is no signature or marks on it. nicely detailed looks hand painted to me thankschris[

It has European goldfinches painted on it, so it's unlikely that it's from the U.S.

This might be a hobbiest plate.

A couple of years back, I had 4 mugs, a sugar and creamer with those same birds. The trees were not done as nicely. Mine were definitely hand painted and signed.
Mine were not dated, but from the china they were painted on I suspected they were 1970s.
There may have been a stencil available from hobby shops.

Get a magnifying glass and look for brush strokes.
