Help please ID this hallmark

    Can someone please help ID this hallmark. It says Pierre and 925 and it is a sunflower tie clip maybe???

    @Auntcaroltreasures - Welcome to the forum!! :happy::happy:

    One of the jewelry gurus may be able to help with just seeing the mark but I am not one of them. So while you wait for one of them to wander in could you please post a photo of the front & back of the pin. Construction of jewelry can help ID a piece of jewelry in relation to the mark. :happy::happy:

    Welcome, Auntcaroltreasures!

    Despite the French sounding name of Pierre, the pointed-end shape on the mark below looks Italian. I cannot read what is impressed inside that shape, though. So anything you can do to improve the picture or type out what is there, will really help. As you probably know, the 925 stamp is for sterling silver,.

    Maybe PC? If it is, it is the regional mark of Piacenza.

    If it has the star shape, it is Italian. If it has PT, it is for Pistoia.

    Are you sure? Maybe you can see it better if you rub the mark with a silver polishing cloth. If you could post a clear photo, that would be great.

    Pierre, 44PT 925 - so some company named Pierre or using Pierre as a trading name, the 44th registered in Pistoia Italy. Beyond that, what Anund said.
