Featured Nazi items stolen from Dutch war museums

Thiefs have been raiding several smaller war museums, mostly for guns and helmets. No doubt those will turn up on sites selling Nazi and WWII memorabilia.
Important items are now under lock and key elsewhere, to keep them safe. That means it is more difficult to educate the public about the horrors of WWII.

The worst part is someone will buy those items and venerate them . Theres an old house in Troy New York that had been turned into a museum and when my partner and I toured it the lack of security was shocking . Nothing was under glass or alarmed . I thought even then (1997) that world had long ceased to exist where you could trust people wouldnt lift something. Sad but true.

 

That is what I was thinking. It doesn't bear thinking about, items collected for one purpose, as a warning and a memorial, are stolen for an entirely different, disgusting purpose.

 

What an idiot won't do for a buck...or a Euro. (sigh) Lemmy from Motorhead was a serious collector of WWII bad guy stuff; I wonder what happened to that collection.

Yes, it was one of those privately owned museums. The owner probably couldn't afford insurance, but now he has lost his top pieces.
