I just got this piece that I thought was a pendant, but I don’t think it is. It is sterling silver with 14 kt solid gold on both sides. It also have these dates and number with these words I believe to be Russian. I am hoping someone will be able to give me some information. It looks like it has some meaningful history behind it. Thank you all once again and be safe, healthy and have a wonderful Thanksgiving to those who celebrate.

It's a cool medal of some sort, but I don't read Cyrillic.

It is Russian. Seems to commemorate an assortment of events, presumably military.

Cavalry-related maybe; I see what looks like shoulder decorations and crossed bugles. In the USA that would mean horse-riding soldiers.

would you consider this as an antique because of the dates or the dates mean nothing? I also see the number 96, but i don't think it's a date. Thank you bronwen!

96th Omsk regiment (center). Leutenant Ivanovsky (right)
On the top: For the courage in the mission [given] to the soldier (abbreviated)
Not sure what the dates mean. Those on the top are of the mission

    Russian - Turkish war...........

The Russo-Turkish War of 1877–1878 was a conflict between the Ottoman Empire and the Eastern Orthodox coalition led by the Russian Empire and composed of Bulgaria, Romania, Serbia, and Montenegro. Fought in the Balkans and in the Caucasus, it originated in emerging 19th-century Balkan nationalism

It seems to me the dates are the years they served, would you agree?

According to what I found, many regiments had special signs (tokens) to celebrate their 100-year anniversary. The 96 Omsk regimen was founded in 1797, so the dates 1797-1897 mark precisely this centenary.
I can only suppose that the date next to the epaulets (23.5.1883) is the date when Ivanovsky was awarded to be Lieutenant.
1877-1878 are indeed the date of the Russian-Turkish war. The token I posted has this also inscribed: "For the excellence in the Russian-Turkish War of 1877-1878".
By the way, the tokens I am finding from this regimen are all similar to the one I posted, so I think yours is quite rare.
And they wore them on the uniform, like medals.
