Featured cachepot mark

    Here is the mark from the link. It looks like LG to me while I think yours is more like an S but they are incised in a similar manner.

    thanks sis, yeah they seem quite similarly done, maybe different decorators ?

    Think it’s definitely Paris porcelain. Not Le Tallec but c 1850s I think. A very good buy at £22.

    I think impressed, inscribed initials/letters in the paste would normally be by/for the person who formed the body/shape of the object. The decorator would sign in paint on the base...or mark in the decoration itself? Again...im not an expert. Just my understanding.

    Yes I think this is just a potter’s mark. I’m selling a piece of Paris porcelain and it has a similar incised mark. Don’t think it’s a factory mark.
