German Fairgound throwing Ball?

    All I can think is that this was some sort of Fairground throwing ball, but there again why would it twist open as to hold something?
    A tough one for the guys and gals to advise on I think.

    Is it made of tin ?

    A friend deals in vintage slots and fairground machines.
    He bought some 1928 German machines once and he found similar inside.

    You placed a Pfennig in the machine and a painted tin ball dropped out with a prize inside.
    Silver cufflinks , boiled sweets and other prizes were inside.

    I was thinking it had to be a candy container of some sort. Fairground prize holder looks plausible, right down to the European clown. (as opposed to their creepy American cousins)
