Are jigsaw fitted rings a recent thing? I don't see pics online of vintage rings with that characteristic.
I can't find one online that fits together like this one. The one
side extending underneath to come up on the other side with one stone and it's tricky to put it together. Ones I see online only fit at the top on one side.
Any idea to its age? 14K and diamonds.

Can't see which type it is in the photo, but they have been around for over 30 years........... wedding ring enhancer/wrap.

Thank you. Googling "Wedding ring enhancer" gives me lots more reference on this type.

I've gone through pages of pictures and still don't see one that goes underneath like this one. I praise the jeweler for doing something different at least.

Does this readily come apart into 2 pieces? If so, could we see it separated that way? Emphasis on readily.

Yes. it comes apart readily. There are two rings. One the "enhancer" you wouldn't want to wear by itself with that odd arm that extends out to get to the other side of the main ring. It looks like an insect.

I've had it in my safe deposit box for years and was always curious about it. I'll have to get to the bank one day and snap some pics.
