Help identifying Native American saddle blanket

    Thanks for the advice. The blanket is approx. 36x72 I did not get exact measurements

    it's got a Navajo look to it alright.......
    & the way the red , bleeds at the end.....looks used too..

    Yes, looks Navajo from what we can see in the photos - edge cords, no fringe except for the corner tassels. Pretty simple design. It is a very typical size for a saddle blanket. They were usually folded in half when used. The end where the red dye has bled may have been the side that rested on a sweaty horse, while the other end was on top, away from the body. Could also be used as a rug, of course.

    We generally do not offer values here, as we cannot see the items in person and there are too many variables. But you can check ebay, sold items, for comparable prices. To some extent, possible sale price will depend on your location. It is not a particularly decorative example, and the bleeding dye will reduce value.
